A judge has temporarily blocked the release of bodycam footage from Justin Timberlake’s 2024 arrest in Sag Harbor, New York, after his legal team asked the court to keep the video private. The order gives the Village of Sag Harbor until April 9 to explain why the footage, requested under New York’s Freedom of Information Law, should be made public.
Timberlake’s attorneys argued the footage shows him in a highly vulnerable condition and said releasing it could damage both his personal life and professional reputation. The court also allowed his lawyers to review the video while privacy concerns are considered. Under the order, any records found to be an unwarranted invasion of privacy could remain sealed.
The case stems from Timberlake’s June 18, 2024 arrest. Authorities said he ran a stop sign and did poorly on field sobriety tests. He later pleaded guilty to driving while ability impaired by alcohol and was sentenced to 25 hours of community service along with a $500 fine.
