Woman Goes Viral After Laying Down Her “Bare Minimum” First Date Rules
One woman’s idea of first date etiquette is fueling a full-blown internet argument. A single New York City woman known as Raq went viral after sharing what she calls the “bare minimum” requirements men must meet if they want a second date.
The video, which has pulled in more than a million views, features Raq confidently listing off expectations she believes should be automatic. While she insists it is basic courtesy, plenty of viewers felt the rules crossed into entitlement territory.
Raq made it clear that failing to meet any of these expectations is a deal breaker, especially when it comes to money and manners.
Here is what she says men are required to do on a first date:
-
Cover the entire bill. She says splitting the check guarantees no future contact and public trash-talking.
-
Open every door. According to her, doors are not her responsibility.
-
Allow her to order before you do.
-
Give her the booth seat, no questions asked.
-
Offer to walk her to her car, home, or Uber as proof of confidence.
-
Keep exes and past flings completely out of the conversation.
-
Know and follow the sidewalk rule. If you do not, she suggests that explains your dating struggles.
Some viewers backed her up, calling the list basic respect that men should already understand. Others were far less forgiving, accusing her of demanding treatment without offering anything in return and saying her delivery made her come off as difficult to date.
As the comments piled up, the post became another reminder that modern dating debates can turn nuclear in seconds. Whether you agree with her standards or think they belong in a fantasy novel, the reaction proves one thing. Dating expectations are still one of the internet’s favorite battlefields.
