Stephen Anthony Lawrence, who played Bernard “Beans” Aranguren on Disney Channel’s Even Stevens from 2001 to 2003, alleges Universal Studios Hollywood terminated his employment in retaliation for reporting a suspected pedophile. The 35-year-old actor made the claims Saturday on Instagram, stating his boss and an HR representative fired him “to retaliate for reporting a suspected pedophile around children.” Lawrence wrote, “I delayed posting this for about a month because I was hoping we could find some sort of amicable solution, because I absolutely loved performing and dancing with all you amazing people.” He added, “With what I know, I WILL NEVER ALLOW MY KID TO GO TO UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD.” Former co-star Christy Carlson Romano commented support, writing “Good for you Steven!” Lawrence provided no additional details about his allegations.
