Nick Reiner will stay on suicide watch and in solitary confinement indefinitely while facing double murder charges for killing his parents, director Rob Reiner, 78, and photographer Michele Reiner, 70. A police source told People that Reiner wears a blue suicide-prevention smock at Twin Towers Correctional Facility and will “remain on suicide watch until a doctor clears him, which could take a long time depending on his mental health.” Health professionals determined he has a “mental disability” but is “mentally sound enough” for court appearances. His arraignment was postponed until January 7th. A supervisor checks on him every 15 minutes, and he’s escorted by a sergeant with video camera for any movement. Reiner faces two first-degree murder counts with special allegations, punishable by life imprisonment or death penalty. (Story URL)
