Wiz Khalifa received a nine-month prison sentence in Romania after prosecutors successfully appealed a drug possession case. The sentence stems from July 2024 when Khalifa lit a joint while performing at a festival in Costinești. He was initially detained and charged with illegal drug possession but released quickly. Khalifa apologized on X, stating “I didn’t mean any disrespect to the country of Romania by lighting up on stage.” The Constanța Tribunal first imposed a 3,000 lei fine (approximately $690), but Romania’s Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism appealed and won the harsher sentence. The decision is reportedly final under Romanian law. It remains unclear whether Romanian authorities will seek extradition. Khalifa is currently in the United States and recently appeared at Gunna’s Los Angeles concert Tuesday night. (Story URL)
