Katseye has been named TikTok’s Global Artist of the Year in the platform’s annual Year in Music recap. The Grammy-nominated girl group was followed on the global list by Alan Arietta, Enhypen, Bad Bunny, and Stray Kids. Connie Francis’s 1962 hit, “Pretty Little Baby” topped the global and U.S. song charts due to a viral resurgence on the social media app, where it has garnered over 10 billion cumulative streams, leading to the track making its debut Billboard Hot 100 chart appearance 63 years after its original release. Jess Glynne’s “Hold My Hand” was the No. 2 song globally and in the U.S., with the track coming in at No. 1 in her native UK. Taylor Swift was the most-saved artist on TikTok, with Sombr’s “Back to Friends” becoming the most-saved song, and Tate McRae’s So Close to What the most-saved album. EJAE was named TikTok’s Songwriter of the Year, while Doechii’s “Anxiety” was recognized as the Music Trend of the Year. (Variety)
