A total of 2,397 golden retrievers gathered at Buenos Aires’ Bosques de Palermo park on Monday, breaking the unofficial world record for the largest gathering of the breed in one place. Argentine influencer Fausto Duperré, 28, organized the event and attended with his 10-year-old golden retriever named Oli. “We made it, folks. WE ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD,” Duperré wrote on Instagram. “We have the world record for the largest golden joint! I can’t explain my happiness, I can’t explain my emotion.” The gathering, dubbed the “Golden Wave” on social media, surpassed the previous informal record of 1,685 golden retrievers set in Vancouver in 2024.
