New Orleans ranked second for seamlessly fusing “Cajun, Creole, Italian, and French cuisines.” Milwaukee earned third place with “a buzzy restaurant scene that has turned the city into a dining destination in its own right.” Chicago placed fourth, though the magazine noted “experiencing the full range of this city’s culinary scene is no easy feat.” San Francisco ranked fifth, “fueled by Pacific seafood, California farmland, and nearby Napa and Sonoma wine regions.” The complete list featured 15 cities total, with Lexington, Kentucky, Columbus, Ohio, and Santa Fe, New Mexico also making the top eight rankings.
