Lineman Werner J. Neubauer rescued a bear from a utility pole in Cochise County, Arizona, after the animal climbed up and faced potential electrocution. Neubauer responded to the emergency call and immediately shut off power to the pole’s equipment for safety. He then used a bucket truck to reach the bear and encouraged it to climb down by prodding it with a fiberglass stick. Video footage recorded by Neubauer’s wife shows the bear sliding down the pole before returning to the wilderness. This marks Neubauer’s second bear rescue from a utility pole, following a similar incident in 2021 when he helped a young bear that was lying on top of a power pole. (Story URL)
