English actor Callum Turner has become the leading candidate to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond, according to betting company Coral. The 35-year-old star of Fantastic Beasts and The Boys in the Boat gained momentum after his role in A24’s romantic comedy Eternity alongside Elizabeth Olsen and Miles Teller. “We’ve been knocked over with support for Callum Turner in our next James Bond betting over the last 24 hours,” said Coral’s John Hill. “The British actor is now the red-hot favourite for the role.” Other contenders include Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Henry Cavill, though producers are reportedly seeking someone in their mid-20s to early 30s. Director Denis Villeneuve is searching for a “fresh face” from the British Isles for Bond 26, which will completely reboot the franchise rather than continue from 2021’s No Time to Die. (Story URL)
