Frederick Police confirmed they found human remains in a wooded area after a radio show caller reported discovering a body. The caller, identifying himself as “Joseph,” phoned DC101’s Elliot in the Morning show on November 21st, saying he found decomposed remains at a Maryland campsite 18 days earlier. Host Elliot Segal urged the caller to contact authorities, asking “Tell me you called the police?” Joseph replied “Probably today” and “I had a dream last night that I called them, so, no, not yet.” Segal responded “Dude, call the cops!” Officers located the remains off South East Street and Monocacy Boulevard near a roundabout in an advanced state of decomposition. Police said positive identification is underway and “there is no indication of foul play in this death, and there is no threat to the public.” No arrests have been made in connection with the discovery.
