A deer smashed through a cafeteria window at Amherst Junior High School in Ohio at 7:20 a.m. while staff prepared breakfast for students. Video footage shows two deer running across sidewalks when one charged directly at windows near the school’s bus loop and bicycle racks. The animal crashed into a cafeteria table and struggled on tile floors as people ran from its path. Principal Andrew Hoffman said staff and Amherst Police Department officers contained the deer by guiding it onto the stage before leading it out the back door. “As shocking as the event was to witness, we are happy to report that no significant injuries took place, although a couple of students and staff members were present in the cafeteria when the deer came through the window,” Hoffman stated. Classes continued normally, with breakfast served during first period after the incident. (Story URL)
