The soundtrack for the new Michael Showalter film, Oh. What. Fun., is set to be released alongside the movie on December 3 via Sony Music Masterworks. The collection features covers of holiday classics by St. Vincent, Jeff Tweedy, Fleet Foxes, as well as two festive original new songs by Gwen Stefani, “Shake The Snow Globe” and “Hot Cocoa.” Other highlights include Sharon Van Etten’s rendition of The Pretenders‘ “2000 Miles,” which is the first song shared from the soundtrack. “I connected with the depth of the lyrics and how our feelings around the holidays can be complicated,” Van Etten said. “I hope if The Pretenders hear it, they feel our appreciation and love for Chrissie, the band and this song.” Other standouts include Tweedy’s cover of The Band’s “Christmas Must Be Tonight,” and St. Vincent’s take on Judy Garland’s Meet Me in St. Louis hit, “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.” Available on colored vinyl and CD with exclusive artwork, pre-orders for the soundtrack are ongoing.
