Fox is creating an American version of Nation’s Dumbest, a Scandinavian reality competition show where losing means winning. Celebrity participants from various backgrounds including influencers, wrestlers, comedians and politicians battle to get eliminated quickly, avoiding the title of nation’s dumbest person. Contestants face physical and mental challenges testing basic knowledge everyone should possess. Fox describes its adaptation as a celebrity competition that “flips the genre on its head because for the first time, the goal isn’t to win — it’s to get eliminated.” The Norwegian original premiered in August 2024 and became the country’s top-rated program.
