Rapper RBX filed a federal class action lawsuit Sunday against Spotify, claiming the platform allows massive streaming fraud that benefits certain artists. RBX, whose real name is Eric Dwayne Collins and who is Snoop Dogg’s cousin, alleges Drake received billions of artificial streams between January 2022 and September 2025. Collins states “a substantial, non-trivial percentage of Drake’s ~37,000,000,000 streams on Spotify during that timeframe were inauthentic and appeared to be the work of a sprawling network of Bot Accounts.” The suit claims fraudulent streaming takes royalties from legitimate artists through Spotify’s pro rata payment system. Collins alleges Drake’s streams show “abnormal VPN usage” and that “less than 2% of his users accounts for roughly 15% of his overall streams.” Spotify responded that it “in no way benefits from the industry-wide challenge of artificial streaming.” (Story URL)
