Twin brothers Ian and Stuart Paton from Lymington, Hampshire, have broken the world record for heaviest pumpkin with their 2,819-pound, 4-ounce gourd named Muggle. The 64-year-old siblings also claimed the largest pumpkin by circumference record at 21 feet and 3.8 inches. Their massive vegetable was officially weighed at the Wargrave Nursery Giant Vegetable Weigh-Off near Reading, England, and certified by Guinness World Records. The brothers have cultivated oversized squash for over 50 years, beginning in their teens. “Moving giant pumpkins is fairly easy as we’ve been doing it for many years. We have our big lifting ring and literally scoop up the pumpkins,” Ian Paton told Guinness World Records. (Story URL)
