Netflix has acquired the worldwide rights to create film and TV projects based on the popular board game Catan. The streaming service plans both scripted and unscripted shows, plus live-action and animated content. Klaus Teuber launched The Settlers Of Catan in 1995, which has sold over 45 million copies globally and been translated into more than 40 languages. “When our father Klaus Teuber first introduced ‘Catan’ thirty years ago, he imagined an aspirational world where people would gather by trading, building and settling together,” said Benjamin and Guido Teuber. Netflix has previously adapted games including Arcane, Castlevania, Assassin’s Creed, and Monopoly. (Story URL)
