Shaboozey is praising Bad Bunny as the ideal choice for the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner, calling him a “global superstar, global icon — and an American citizen,” whose performances ignite audiences worldwide. Shaboozey – an NFL halftime show veteran after headlining the 2024 Thanksgiving Day Halftime Show in November before making a high-profile cameo in the Beyoncé Bowl on Christmas Day – spoke with Billboard during the U.S. Grand Prix, telling the publication, “I think Bad Bunny’s awesome.” The country superstar went on to add that Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance is going to bring the event to a worldwide audience. “I’ve noticed the NFL has been trying to expand,” Shaboozey said, while adding, “My brother Myles Smith played up in Dublin at one of their season openers, so they’re clearly trying to globalize the brand. Football’s such a beloved sport, why not not take it to other places?” (Billboard)
