Three hurt in crash of small plane in northern Minnesota

MCGREGOR, Minn. (KFGO) – Three people were hospitalized following the crash of a small plane near McGregor in northern Minnesota late Sunday afternoon.

The Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office says the plane lost power after takeoff and went down about a half mile from the airport. One of the three people aboard was airlifted to a hospital, but all of them are expected to recover. The victims are from the suburban Twin Cities. A 911 call reporting the crash came into the sheriff’s office at 4:26.

The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
