Christina Derevjanik from Stamford, Connecticut, became the fourth person ever to claim the $1 million prize on Wheel Of Fortune, setting a single-episode winnings record of $1,035,155 on Tuesday. The contestant started slowly, missing both opening toss-ups, but landed on the $1 million wedge during her first puzzle win. She accumulated $35,155 in regular play before advancing to the bonus round, where the million-dollar envelope replaced the standard $100,000 prize. Derevjanik solved “Pack of coyotes” in the Living Things category to claim the top prize. Host Ryan Seacrest said “You won a million dollars!” as confetti fell and the audience cheered. Before playing, she joked about potentially giving her boss “two weeks notice.” Derevjanik is also the first million-dollar winner since Seacrest became host. (Story URL)
