Children believe people become old at 49, according to a survey of 1,000 kids aged 7 to 16. The study found 51% consider listening to radio a sign of aging, while 48% point to watching daytime television. Other indicators include complaining about aches and pains at 45%, moaning about weather at 34%, and doing crosswords at 32%. Top activities associated with old people include talking about “the good old days,” gardening, and drinking tea. Dr. Pallavi Bradshaw from AXA Health Insurance, which commissioned the research, said “it is surprising that children consider you ‘old’ at 50 and even at age 30, one in five children believe people stop having fun.” Nearly half of children think their own parents are old. However, kids see benefits in aging including having more money at 52% and gaining life experience at 47%. (Story URL)
