A new Google study reveals that 90% of technology professionals worldwide now use artificial intelligence at work, marking a 14% increase from last year. The research from Google’s DORA division surveyed 5,000 tech workers who primarily use AI for writing and modifying code. Ryan J. Salva, who oversees Google’s coding tools like Gemini Code Assist, told CNN that “If you are an engineer at Google, it is unavoidable that you will be using AI as part of your daily work.” However, trust levels remain mixed, with only 20% saying they trust AI-generated code “a lot” while 46% trust it “somewhat.” The trend coincides with challenging job market conditions for entry-level workers, as software engineering job listings on Indeed dropped 71% between February 2022 and August 2025. Computer science graduate unemployment now exceeds rates for art history and English majors. (Story URL)
