Harvey Sliker, 75, of Utica faces simple assault and reckless endangerment charges after allegedly threatening children on his school bus. Sugarcreek Borough Police received complaints from parents whose children arrived home “crying and extremely sweaty.” Investigators say Sliker ordered students aged 5 to 12 to close windows, then blasted the heater on high while outside temperatures reached 74 degrees. Interior bus temperatures may have climbed between 95 and 100 degrees. Police report Sliker told children “I am going to cook you all” and threatened to bring a paddle the next day. Valley Grove Elementary School worked with police during the investigation. The Valley Grove School District confirmed the bus contractor immediately replaced Sliker and issued him a no-trespass order from school property. (Story URL)
