Chinese researchers have discovered that cheerful music can significantly reduce motion sickness symptoms. The study, published in Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, found joyful music cut car sickness by 57.3%, while soft music reduced symptoms by 56.7%. Scientists at Southwest University tested 30 participants using driving simulators and EEG brain monitoring. “Music represents a non-invasive, low-cost, and personalized intervention strategy,” said study author Dr. Qizong Yue. Passionate music decreased symptoms by 48.3%, but sad music performed worse than no intervention. The control group showed 43.3% symptom reduction compared to just 40% for sad music listeners. (GNN)
