Beniamin Bucur, 40, was arrested Wednesday night for allegedly residing in a crawl space beneath a Clackamas apartment building without permission. Deputies responded around 11pm after a witness saw an unknown man park and enter the back of the complex, with light visible from the crawl space before the door closed. Officers discovered the damaged door was locked with an extension cord running through a vent. The property owner confirmed no one should be there and reported hearing strange noises previously. After forcing entry, deputies found Bucur had “taken significant steps to improve the conditions of the crawl space and was obviously living inside.” They discovered a bed, lights, chargers, TVs, and electronic equipment connected to the building’s power supply. A pipe tested positive for methamphetamine. Bucur faces burglary and drug possession charges with bail set at $75,000. (Story URL)
