A new survey found Americans second-guess 41% of daily decisions, with 1 in 8 contemplating nearly every choice. The average person makes 50 decisions daily, totaling 1.5 million choices in a lifetime – 42% claim even more. A quarter feel stressed by simple decisions, especially at the grocery store, where 1 in 4 get overwhelmed and 54% feel pressure to make the “right” purchase. Shoppers spend 4 minutes deliberating each item, with 32% taking longer. Over a third experience “aisle anxiety” from too many options and crowding. 70% want 100% certainty their cart is perfect, with 36% considering themselves “product detectives” researching labels, packaging and certifications.
