The legal battle between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively has taken a dramatic turn. A judge recently unsealed emails and text messages that allegedly show Baldoni’s team orchestrating a covert campaign to manipulate public perception against Lively.
One key message from Baldoni’s publicist, Melissa Nathan, outlines a $25,000-per-month, three-month plan to engage with social media accounts and steer the narrative in Baldoni’s favor—essentially creating a “smear campaign” against Lively.
The Backstory
The dispute began in December 2024 when Lively sued Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation on set. Baldoni countered with a $400 million defamation lawsuit, though most of his claims were dismissed by mid-2025.
The unsealed communications add new context to Lively’s accusations, showing a coordinated effort to control public messaging about her. Both sides are now preparing for a potential trial, with testimony from Baldoni and Lively expected in March 2026.
