A Kansas woman with stage 4 breast cancer has set up a roadside stand to raise funds for a treatment that could prolong her life. Jennifer Gordy was diagnosed over three years ago and underwent a double mastectomy, but her cancer never went away. Now terminal, she experiences debilitating symptoms. Gordy’s doctor has recommended a $10,000-per-month medication, but her insurance won’t cover it. To afford the treatment, Gordy is selling baked goods, clothing, and mugs at the stand, pouring her remaining energy into the effort. Gordy’s husband, Adam, says they are trying to stay positive and make the most of the time they have left together. The couple have also started a GoFundMe campaign to cover the expensive treatment.
