Nintendo has filed a copyright notice for an as-yet-unannounced Donkey Kong film. The filing lists Nintendo Studios LLC as the copyright holder, alongside Universal Pictures, which produced the successful Super Mario Bros. Movie. While details about the Donkey Kong film are scarce, fans speculate it could be part of a larger Nintendo Cinematic Universe, with various characters getting their own solo movies. The news comes as Nintendo prepares to launch a new Donkey Kong game, Donkey Kong Bananaza, on the Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo has also mentioned plans for a separate, live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda. (Ign)
