Montana Man Robs Bank for $1, Waits Outside for Police
In Three Forks, Montana, a 59-year-old man walked into a bank this week and told the teller, “I’m declaring this a bank robbery.”
His demand? One dollar.
After receiving the dollar bill, the man identified as Mark Gilbert walked across the lobby, placed it on another counter, and told the staff to call the police and report the robbery.
He then walked outside and sat calmly on the steps, waiting to be arrested. And that’s exactly what happened.
Gilbert was taken into custody and remains in jail. No explanation has been given as to why he wanted to be arrested, but he is due in court Thursday, so maybe we will learn his intention at a later date.
