Man Brings 6-Foot Alligator to Virginia Motel
In Huntington, Virginia, motel guests got a little more than a continental breakfast this week when a six-foot, 400-pound alligator was spotted outside one of the rooms.
Police were called and quickly located the gator alive, well, and not part of the hotel’s pet policy. According to officers, the owner was transporting the alligator to a zoo in North Carolina and decided the motel was a good overnight stop.
It turns out that Virginia law has a few things to say about that. Some exotic animals, including gators, aren’t legal to possess. So instead of complimentary Wi-Fi, the owner got a police escort out of the county.
No one was hurt, though it’s safe to say this wasn’t the kind of check-in the front desk was expecting.
