A museum in Italy is seeking a couple who caused damage to a delicate chair while attempting to take a selfie. The incident took place at the Palazzo Maffei in Verona, where CCTV footage captured a man sitting on the ‘Van Gogh chair,’ causing it to collapse as a woman tried to photograph him. The unidentified couple quickly left the museum without reporting the accident. Museum director Vanessa Carlon expressed disappointment, stating that the couple did not take responsibility for their actions. The museum has involved the police, although it remains uncertain if the couple will face charges. The chair, adorned with Swarovski crystals, was created by artist Nicola Bolla as a tribute to Vincent Van Gogh’s painting of a similar chair. No specific value has been disclosed for the damaged chair. (Newser)
