At Aurora Zoo in Guatemala City, an elephant saved a gazelle from drowning in their shared enclosure’s watering hole. The elephant used its trunk to pull the struggling gazelle out of the water after an initial failed attempt. Spectators captured the heartwarming rescue on film, cheering as the gazelle was safely back on land. This is not the first time an elephant at the zoo has acted as a lifeguard, with a similar incident involving another gazelle in 2022. A zookeeper swiftly intervened during that rescue. While the enclosure’s water hole may need adjustments, visitors can rest assured that there is a large and vigilant lifeguard on duty. (Goodnewsnetwork)
