Matthew McConaughey and producer Nic Pizzolatto are set to collaborate on a new project, with McConaughey in talks to star in a feature film based on the iconic character Mike Hammer, a no-holds-barred private investigator. This marks a reunion for the duo, who previously worked together on acclaimed the first season of HBO’s True Detective in 2014. Skydance had previously acquired the rights to the “Mike Hammer” book series, written by Mickey Spillane and Max Allan Collins, with plans to develop it into a feature film. The character dates back to 1947 and has been brought to the screen numerous times, perhaps most famously in Robert Aldrich’s Kiss Me Deadly in 1955 (Variety)
