Nintendo’s latest gaming console, the Switch 2, has made a remarkable debut, selling over 3.5 million units worldwide in the first four days since its June 5 launch. This makes the $449.99 Switch 2 the fastest-selling system in the company’s history, a strong start towards Nintendo’s goal of 15 million sales by March 2026. The new console boasts enhanced features, including a larger, high-definition screen, faster processor, and redesigned Joy-Con 2 controllers with mouse functionality. It launched with the flagship title Mario Kart World, as well as other first and third-party games, and will soon see the exclusive Donkey Kong Bananza on July 17th. Despite initial pushback over the $450 price tag, Nintendo remains confident in the Switch 2’s performance, with the company’s president praising the “enthusiasm” and “fun” fans are already experiencing with the new system.
