Man Shot in the Leg Over a Phone Cord, Yes a Phone Cord
Seattle police are investigating a shooting that started with something most people keep in their nightstand…a phone cord.
Around 2 a.m. Monday, officers responded to S. Hanford Street near the Mount Baker light rail station, where they found a man shot in the leg. Police applied a tourniquet before taking him to the hospital.
The victim told officers the shooter had taken his phone cord and refused to give it back. Words were exchanged, tensions rose, and somewhere between “that’s my cord” and “give it back,” a gun was pulled.
The suspect fled the scene and hasn’t been found.
There’s no known connection between the two men beyond the cord in question, but police are still investigating. If you’re wondering whether this qualifies as an overreaction, it does.
