Chicago-based chain Portillo’s is honoring the first American pope with a limited-time sandwich called “The Leo.” This sandwich, which celebrates the election of Chicago-born Pope Leo XIV, is an Italian beef sandwich dipped in gravy and topped with sweet or spicy peppers. The Leo will be available throughout the month of May, which is also Italian Beef Month. Pontillo’s described this offering as a “divinely seasoned Italian beef.” (Fox 32 Chicago)
