Valerie the dachshund survived 17 months in the Australian wilderness, but her vacation is now over. The princess pup escaped from her owner during a trip to Kangaroo Island in November of 2023. Finally, the canine has been captured. Owner Georgia Gardner’s clothing was used to lure the dog into a trap. Officials report the animal is fit and well after surviving for over a year on an island inhabited by snakes and predatory lizards. Valeria will soon be returned to Gardner on the mainland. (newser)
