Washington Man Arrested for Breaking In and Stealing His Ex’s Chicken
A Washington woman’s ex-boyfriend went fowl when he broke into her home and stole her pet chicken, Polly.
Deputies in Kitsap County say the woman called 911 after her ex kicked in her door, grabbed the bird, and repeatedly shouted, “I’ve got Polly!” before running off into the night.
A police search led officers to a wooded area where they found the suspect—still clutching Polly like a poultry prize. Bodycam footage captured the moment deputies retrieved the unharmed chicken before arresting the man.
Adding another twist to this bizarre break-in, records show the 50-year-old suspect had been released from jail just three hours before his feathered felony. Now, he’s back behind bars, facing charges of residential burglary and violating a protection order.
Polly, meanwhile, is back home, likely wondering what the cluck just happened.
