A Kansas babysitter got the shock of her life when a child’s fear of monsters turned out to be completely justified.
The Great Bend babysitter was watching over children when one expressed fear that a “monster” was hiding under the bed. To reassure them, she checked underneath—and locked eyes with an actual man hiding there.
A confrontation quickly escalated, with the man knocking over both the babysitter and the child before fleeing the scene.
The Barton County Sheriff’s Office responded around 10:30 p.m. on Monday and launched an investigation. The next day, deputies tracked down and arrested 27-year-old Martin Villalobos Jr., who already had a protection order barring him from the home.
Villalobos is now facing charges of aggravated kidnapping and child endangerment and is being held on a $500,000 bond.
