Smiling Sorority Girl Arrested Again Weeks After Viral Mugshot
Lily Stewart, the University of Georgia sorority girl whose smiling mugshot went viral, has found herself behind bars againโless than a month after her first arrest.
Stewart, a sophomore and member of Alpha Chi Omega, was arrested early Sunday on charges of obstruction of a law enforcement officer and loitering/prowling. She was later released after posting a $4,600 bond.
This latest arrest follows her March 8 booking, when she was pulled over twice in two minutes for excessive speeding. During that incident, she was caught driving 84 mph in a 55 mph zone in her 2021 Volvo XC40. Her grinning mugshot quickly spread across the internet, earning her the nickname โMiss America.โ
Her attorney, Stephen Morris, successfully had her previous speeding charge dropped, citing online harassment and trolling that followed the viral moment.
As of now, it looks like Stewartโs mugshot collection is growing almost as fast as her internet fame.
