Guys Allegedly Try To Shoot Meth And Smokes Into Prison Using An Air Cannon
Talk about high-powered stupidity. Two Colorado men were busted in Louisiana for trying to smuggle meth and tobacco into a federal prison using an air cannon—yes, an actual cannon.
Authorities say 18-year-old Jose Francisco Herrera Munoz and 19-year-old Angel Gonzales Gutierrez planned to blast $112,000 worth of tobacco and $89,500 worth of meth over the security fence of the Federal Correctional Institution in Pollock, Louisiana. The cannon was professionally manufactured and had a 350-foot range.
Unfortunately for them, an alert guard spotted the sketchy operation before they could launch their payload, leading to their arrests. And for Munoz, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) also got involved and placed a detainer on him after discovering he is in the country illegally.
Both men now face charges for attempting to introduce contraband into a penal institution and attempting to distribute meth.
