Imagine heading out for a peaceful kayaking trip—only to end up inside the mouth of a massive humpback whale. That’s exactly what happened to Adrian Simancas while paddling in the waters off Chilean Patagonia over the weekend.
Simancas was kayaking with his dad when, out of nowhere, a humpback whale surfaced and swallowed him whole—only to spit him back out moments later. The wild encounter was caught on camera, and Simancas recalled thinking the whale was either curious about him or trying to communicate.
But the terror didn’t end there. After being ejected from the whale’s mouth, Simancas briefly thought an orca was about to finish the job. Luckily, both he and his dad made it back to shore in one piece, with an insane survival story to tell.
