More Than a Million Igloo Coolers Recalled Due to Finger Amputation Risk
Igloo is recalling over one million of its 90-Quart Flip and Tow Rolling Coolers after reports of serious injuries caused by a faulty handle design. The recall, which affects coolers sold between January 2019 and January 2025 at major retailers like Costco, Target, and Amazon, was issued after 12 incidents of injuries were reported—including fingertip amputations, fractures, and deep cuts.
The issue stems from the handle’s ability to snap back unexpectedly, creating a dangerous pinching hazard that can lead to severe injuries. Due to this risk, Igloo is urging consumers to stop using the affected coolers immediately and reach out for a free replacement handle.
