The “Most Dangerous Toy” In History Is Now For Sale
Step aside, fidget spinners — the Gilbert U-238 Atomic Energy Laboratory from the 1950s takes the crown for the wildest (and possibly most dangerous) toy ever. This science kit for kids came with real uranium samples, a Geiger counter, and an electroscope. Yep, radioactive fun was all the rage back then!
Dubbed one of the “10 Most Dangerous Toys of All Time,” the kit flopped in stores and was discontinued in 1951. But now, one is up for auction with a current bid at the time of this writing of $4,400. If you’re into collectibles or radioactive nostalgia, this could be your chance to own a piece of atomic-era history! The auction ends December 11th with RR Auction: Click here to see it
