Wisconsin Burglar Whips Up Shrimp and Pasta Dinner in Stranger’s Home
A Wisconsin woman took home invasion to the next level by whipping up a shrimp and pasta dinner in a stranger’s house.
Madison Police arrested Joanna Kelly Lee after finding her comfortably settled in the home she’d just broken into. Officers were called to the scene when the resident came home at 10:30 p.m. and noticed lights on and someone moving around inside.
To the officers’ surprise, Lee greeted them at the door and insisted she had permission to be there, claiming she met the resident at a coffee shop earlier that day and was given keys to the house.
“She had been in the house long enough to cook herself a shrimp and pasta dinner,” police said, adding that the resident had no idea who Lee was and confirmed she never gave her permission to enter, let alone help herself to the kitchen.
Investigators later discovered that Lee came up with her story after reading through the homeowner’s mail. Lee was arrested and is currently being held at the Dane County Jail on charges of burglary and criminal trespass.
