WASHINGTON – A bill aimed at preventing drug trafficking on social media platforms is headed to the U.S. Senate floor for a vote.
Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar says social media companies aren’t doing enough to stop the illegal sale of fentanyl and other drugs.
The Cooper Davis and Devin Norring Act will require them to report it to law enforcement so they can go after the cartels.
Klobuchar says 19-year-old Devin Norring of Hastings bought what he thought was the pain-killer Percocet on Snapchat before he overdosed.
Minnesota Congresswoman Angie Craig introduced the bill in the U.S. House last week.
