MINNEAPOLIS – A 25-year-old man has pleaded guilty to his role in a drug conspiracy involving Fentanyl pills hidden in stuffed animals.
US Attorney Andy Luger says for a year-and-a-half in 2022 and 2023, Cornell Chandler traveled to Phoenix and used the postal service to ship the pills in packages that looked like birthday gifts. The packages were lined with dog treats to throw drug-sniffing dogs off the scent. In early 2023, through an investigation by several federal and local agencies, officers seized six packages with the pills inside.
A sentencing hearing for Chandler will be scheduled at a later time.
