Fargo, ND: Halle Braaflat, a Level 10 standout at American Gold Gymnastics, has verbally committed to
the Women’s Gymnastics Program at SEC Powerhouse University of Georgia. Braaflat, a 2024 Fargo Davies
Graduate, accepted an offer from UGA Head Coach Courtney Kupets Carter last week and will head to Athens
to join the Georgia GymDog Squad in July.
The 10-time NCAA Champion Gymdogs are currently No. 18 in the nation heading into the 2024 post-
season under Kupets Carter. A 2004 Olympic silver medalist, Kupets Carter took the reins of the program in
May of 2017, nine years after completing the most illustrious career in NCAA gymnastics history as a University
of Georgia Gymdog herself.
Braaflat, a two-time USA Gymnastics Level 10 National Qualifier, is a strong all-around competitor who excels
specifically on the vault and floor events. She placed third on the vault and second on the floor exercise en route
to a fourth place finish at the 2023 Region IV Gymnastics Championships held last April in Milwaukee, WI
earning her a second-consecutive berth to National Championships after her first qualification in her Level 10
rookie season in 2022. Braaflat has tallied nine total individual event and all-around titles in four regular season
meets thus far in 2024. Braaflat was also a Regional All-Around Champion at Level 9 and attended Level 9
Western National Championships in 2021 where she finished sixth in the all-around.
Braaflat is also a letter-winner in both Diving and Track & Field for Davies High School. Braaflat capped off
her diving career with a second-place finish in the Girls 1 Meter Diving event at the 2023 NDHSAA Swim & Dive
Championships last November.
Braaflat will sign her commitment to UGA on Wednesday, March 27th at 5:00pm in the commons at Fargo
South High School.
