GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO) – Police say no one was hurt after officers with the Grand Forks SWAT team exchanged gunfire with a man while they were trying to serve a high-risk warrant Friday.
According to the department, the shooting happened outside in the 3300 block of Primrose Court S. When the officers identified themselves, the man immediately began shooting at them.
The officers shot back and the man, 30-year-old Jeffrey Simpson Jr. of Grand Forks, ran. Police say Simpson made it a short distance before giving himself up without further incident.
No one was hurt during the exchange.
The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation will investigate the shooting.
